There are many things that stress me out. Here is a small list:

1. Tom & Jerry Cartoons.

Or really any cartoon where someone gets repeatedly hurt/destroys things

2. That scene from Meet The Parents where he sets the house on fire

Again, destruction is very stressful to me

3. When someone on a show/movie sings a touching solo and is nervous

This one is hard to explain.  In many shows from my youth, there comes an episode where  a character needs to preform in a talent show or burger shack opening. I feel nervous for them and awkward and…ahh it’s the worst.

4. When Lauren ruins her dress in Paris

On the best show in the universe, The Hills, Lauren is interning for Teen Vouge.  She gets a second chance to go to Paris (don’t even get me started on the first time…) and is given a designer gown to wear. SHE RUINS THE GOWN WITH A CURLING IRON! I realize this was probably set up by producers…but STILL!

Betsy and I have had many discussions about the casting decisions for this commercial.  I should probably write a whole post about it. Like were they TRYING to cast some one who was awkward/dorky/relatable? I feel like this girl still goes to band camp and wears tshirts with rubiks cubes on them from Kohls or something. (Sorry if that was way harsh).  The worst part is at the very end where she does the squinty-smile-hello. SO AWK & STRESSFUL!

6. When the car goes through the window at the end of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

Cameron is going to get in HUGE trouble! AHHHHHH! STRESS!

7. Animals

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again… they are unpredictable and they breath on you. Terrifying.

That is all for now…many many more to come…

I don’t know if you’ve ever been charged with the task of being a DJ- but it’s pretty much the hardest thing in the world.  You should have to get a PHD to be a DJ. If it was up to me, I would play the same worship CD from 2002, the Backstreet Boys, & the Spice Girls on repeat.

Shawn & Candi, however, are amazing at picking out music.  They always have good music playing at their house.  “In Christ Alone” came on the other day and it brought back a flood of memories- about being a freshman in college and not being able to hold back tears in a worship service.  It reminded me of my dear, dear friend Angela who played an old piano in a small chapel on campus for our Chi Alpha gatherings with great passion.

This week’s song of the week is “In Christ Alone.”

I love this song.  It’s such a great depiction of the loving message of the Gospel. We were sinners, Jesus died for us, now we get to live with Him forever.

Give it a listen…..

Check out my July newsletter, complete with a trivia question!

Watch this video about ASU Chi Alpha too…consider it a bonus. And a real life look into what ministry on a college campus is like:

Woowooo!!!! I get so excited after watching that! Jesus is real and for real people!

does this mean I’m officially a real blogger?

not to get all meta on you, but I’m going to blog about blogging.

today, I found out I won a blog give away. It’s a very cute Betsey Johnson purse from Taylor @ Our Military Home.  She has about 1 million other blogs too (Book Reviews & (my fav) her more Personal Blog) – she is a pro-fessional! (but seriously, she also has a professional writing company.) I’m majorly inspired by her tech-savvy ways!

I did what I always do when I’m very excited- I immediately texted my sisters:

(I laugh when I’m excited. I’m not like making fun of anyone. Maybe you weren’t thinking that, but I’m just putting it out there.)

I’m not ready to put “blogger” on my resume, but I do have plans to expand…to get better…to be more professional. I feel really uncomfortable when people bring my blog up in real life…It seems like it’s just sort of my silly corner of the internet.   Right now, my goal is to be more consistent and work on writing actual pieces in my spare time I have from Chi Alpha. Cool layouts and giveaways and a domain will come later. 🙂

The Four Corners of the Internet v3

Rando things I have found on the internet.

1. Count Me Healthy Bracelets

Lauren Conrad- my fave- posted on her her blog about these really cute Count Me Healthy bracelets.  They have beads on them that you can use to track health goals AND they are really cute! The $88 price tag has my DIY wheels spinning…. maybe I’ll win Lauren’s giveaway!

2. Coachella Rumors Swirling

This morning I saw Hipster Runoff had tweeted that Coachella may be cancelled for next year? Who knows, but they are making a big announcement tomorrow at 6pm. Perhaps I won’t have to stress about what to pack any more….

3. This Picture

Oh there is no limit to the part I would have…. Posted by Afternoon Snooze Button

4. MTV’s “Friendzone”

Ok I realize that this is not technically on the internet…and I have been informed by my sisters that I am “way behind” with this one. Sue me. It’s hilarious and awkward and makes me uncomfortable to watch. Probably says more about me than the show.  Essentially, it’s about someone confessing that they have a crush on a friend.  Go here to watch a particularly awk clip.

and what a weekend it was!

Saturday meant Summer Chi Alpha!

There was lots of great food including DIY Strawberry Shortcake.  I love calling things DIY…especially food. I think it’s funny and it’s kind of to make fun of mom bloggers but I probably shouldn’t say that on the internet. Oh well…..I think it’s hilarious.

Charades was the game of the night! ASU/Chi Alpha themed….

Fear the Fork was……the most hilarious thing of my life.

The whole point of ASU XA charades was to talk about being aware of your mission field.  Shawn lead us in a discussion about 1 Corinthians 9:19-23  and being “all things to all men.”  Candi talked about how it was called the “principle of accomodation”- which doesn’t mean we endorse everything everyone does- but we love people for who they are.  This is basically my favorite thing to talk about because it means BEING A NORMAL PERSON and loving Jesus and loving those Jesus loves.  It means not being afraid of people outside of the church walls or people who swear or who have green hair.

Sunday meant church! I was supposed to teach the precious preschoolers…but none showed up! So I got to go to big people church. This was also the first week since I’ve been in AZ that I’ve been able to go to church with my sisters….except mag was teaching Kid’s Church…sooo…but there were lots of friends at church.

Can I just say that I am so thankful for my church?! (Yes I can say that. It’s my blog.)  They give me lots of opportunities to serve, people are cool, and the pastors are so relational it’s ridiculous.  If you are in the Scottsdale area, I highly reccomend Vlife Church.

A handful of ladies went out to Sauce after church for lunch.  Sauce is basically the definition of good lunch food.  The people there were basically the definition of the next wave of revival. #justsayin I could brag about every single one of them. World changers, I tell ya. (See? You really should come to my church. hahaha)

I split a delish pizza & salad. SO YUM.

I finished the day with the best thing in the world (besides maybe a shower with excellent water pressure)- a Sunday afternoon nap. When I woke up, Candi had made sloppy joes- basically, Sunday was a dream.

How was your weekend?

The Four Corners of the Internet v2

Here are several weird things I’ve come accross on the internet lately:

1. The Spitting Ibex

I’m not sure if this is a common thing to be stressed out about, but few things stress me out more than someone saying “Hey let me show you this HILARIOUS youtube video!” I feel all of this pressure to laugh and, frankly, it takes a lot of emotional energy for me to pretend to think that a sneezing panda is HILARIOUS. Please don’t judge me.

THAT BEING SAID…i did LOL at this video this week:

2. Momsicles

Since I’ve been into making popsicles lately, I came across this website with directions on how to turn your breast milk into popsicles. Sick. For directions, go here.

3. Kanyed By the Bell is one I discovered long ago. It combines my favs- Kanye West & Saved by the Bell.

4. @Caryprobz

A twitter account all about things from Cary, IL 60013. This is probably only funny to people from my hometown of Cary, but I can’t stop laughing about it. I’m sure if you’re from a small town, you understand and love the quirks of small town living.
