I’m not necessarily proud to admit this, but the election was the first time I had ever voted. It was an emotional experience. I tend to get swept up in experiences that feel so much bigger than me or are especially patriotic. I was especially grateful for the opportunity after I came across this:
One hundred years ago, I wouldn’t have had the privilege of having my voice heard. In an election that came down to a couple hundred of thousand votes, I am more confident than ever that my vote mattered. I am committed to honoring the authority in place in the country and praying for the protection of our leaders.
